Dawson's Sqeak
The TV series Dawson's Creek first aired when I was 14 years old. Everyone in school was absolutely going "crazy" over it. They often discussed the happenings of the previous episodes right before class started. I never understood what the ruckus was all about. I have tried watching an episode or two and could not understand the dialogue. I really couldn't make heads or tails of it. They used highfalutin words that seemed so abnormal and inconsistent to their characters that inspired the kind of annoyance I reserved for traffic jams. Why couldn't they have just talked normal--as in like normal teenagers battling through and completely failing in the face of hormonal turmoil? But then again, if they did, then they'd not be so special, would they?
